Merry Bookmas, Crafty Friends! I’m excited to be here sharing a fun Holiday card, perfect for your book loving friends and family! This fun Waffle Flower Merry Bookmas Die-n-stencil is such a unique way to celebrate the season. I had fun making it rainbowtastic, which feels even more festive in my book!
I recommend die cutting the stack of books first, using both dies in the Merry Bookmas set–the outline of the books and the detailed die. This always allows me to get the layering stencils exactly lined up where I want them on my Waffle Flower Grip Mat, ready to emphasize all the details the die creates.

After die cutting the books, I went with a rainbow color scheme using different shades of the rainbow. Having two layers of layering stencils in the set makes it awesome and effortless to blend the different colors in. It’s super easy using Waffle Flower’s Shader Brushes–you won’t get ink in an opening you don’t want to. (My favorite Waffle Flower Shader Brushes for this are the “Shader Brush 1” set.)
First, I like to lay down a lighter ink shade and then select a darker shade to give a little more oomph to the edges of the books. It adds dimension that will give your book stack a little more interest. Once I was happy with the shading, I pulled out the Waffle Flower Merry Bookmas sentiment stamp set and set to work picking out a few titles for my books. These are fun to mix and match too! To finish off the stack, I adhered a solid stack behind my finished one and added a smidge more color to the openings using my Waffle Flower Shader Brushes before adding a bit of stitching.
I wanted to give the background some subtle detail using Waffle Flower’s Dotted Sunburst Die. This die adds a lot of sweet details without distracting from my tree of books.
I cut out a little rectangle tree stump for my tree, glued it on and then popped up my book tree using dimensional foam adhesive before finishing off the whole shebang with a bit of silver embroidery floss.

I hope you enjoy creating these Waffle Flower Merry Bookmas trees for the upcoming holiday season too. Your bookworm friends, family, neighbors and coworkers are sure to love how sweet and unique these are! The fun of personalizing them with different colors and book titles makes them even more special.
Have yourself a Merry Little Bookmas and thanks for joining me here today! 🙂 Cheers!
