Hello everyone Richele here and I want to share some quick fabrics cards using the Tim Holtz Palette collection in Pink and Red. I love adding an unexpected element to my cards like fabric.

The first card shows off a patchwork for the background over a piece of batting.

- Cut several fabric squares 1 1/4” x 1 1/4” from Tim Holtz Palette fabric in Pink and Red. You will use 12 of them but I cut a few extra so I had lots to work with. Cut a piece of batting or felt approximately 6” x 6” you will trim it down later. Adhere pieces with glue stick to hold in place.
- Stitch diagonally through the squares and batting.
- Die cut message “To the Moon and Back” from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Bold Text 2 Thinlits set or similar from Ranger’s Black Heavystock. Cut the Red Tiny Print to fit behind the words, sew piece of fabric to quilted piece for behind message.
- Add fasteners to the corner of the message (this will attach the card to the quilted piece). Adhere to base card and add the little felt heart.

Creating a simple shape cut from fabric strips sewn together is a fun way to use up your scrap.

- Sew random size strips together large enough for your heart. Press seams to one side.
- Trace a heart on the back side of the fabric and cut out with scissors or pinking shears. You could also die to cut heart.
- Position heart on to front of card and add a little glue stick to help hold in position. Stitch around heart a few times to secure to card.
- Add message from the Tim Holtz Sentiments Layer Stickers as desired.

I love substituting fabric for paper because it’s a great way to add texture to your card.

- Cut a pieces of ledger fabric large enough for your card front leaving a small boarder. Stitch around the outside to secure to card.
- Add a small piece of fabric to the red cardstock mat and add stitching around the outside. Die cut a heart using felt.
- Stamp message with Black Soot Archival Ink using the Tim Holtz Crazy Talk stamp set from Stampers Anonymous.
- Adhere pieces together with foam squares. Wrap red and white twine around card with a bow. Add a charm
I hope you will incorporate some fabric in your next project. Thanks ~ Richele
